![]() Job 30:25 Did Not I weep for him that was in trouble? Was not my soul Grieved for the Poor? Bishop Daniel Boston, Sr. a.k.a. "Bishop", was born on November 11, 1942. It was this day God's work began: a servant was born and a true calling was initiated. Bishop graduated from Washington County Union School in 1960 and moved to Brooklyn, New York in search of greater opportunities. ![]() It was in Brooklyn, a young Daniel met the love of his life, Miss Flora J. Norman and made her his bride. Together they would love and nurture seven biological children and many others they found to be in need of care and guidance. ![]() Bishop continued to hear the call of God. He knew he had to answer. He moved his growing family to Virginia, then home to North Carolina. He knew God had called him to minister to his people. The call could no longer be denied. Bishop began to preach at Promise Land Church of Christ, located in Dardens, NC. Bishop then journeyed to Uniontown Church of Christ of Christ located in the Free Union Community. Uniontown would become a very real part of his family. ![]() Bishop continued to minister and teach all who wanted to know the Lord. As his church family grew so did his personal family. He believed everyone as a child of God, worthy of love. Bishop was very Goal oriented and a hard worker. He served as Bishop of the Eastern North Carolina and Virginia District Assembly for over thirty years. He earned Associate Degrees in Heating, Air Condition and Refrigeration, Electrical and Mechanics. He became a professor for both Beaufort and Martin Community Colleges teaching within the prison system. ![]() Even with so many duties his ministry never suffered. ![]() God continued to bless Bishop and give him the strength to grow and harvest fruit for the kingdom of God. He truly became a fisher of men and women for Christ. Bishop gathered workers of many stations and talents. His harvest included an impressive list of elders to work in the service for the Lord. They include: Elder William Collins - Elder Barry James - Elder Daniel Boston, Jr. - Elder Ronald James Elder Curtis Rodgers - Eldress Annie James - Eldress Carolyn Pierce - Elder Gregory Boston, Eldress Allie James - Eldress Roberta James Bishop was called to a higher purpose on September 11, 2016. He will be missed. We shall cherish his memory as we endeavor to continue the work he started. Bishop Boston has the distinction of being the longest serving pastor of Uniontown Church of Christ to date. We will try to live up to his example of excellence. His axiom: "May The Work I've Done Speak For Me!" |
