6 ACTIONS FOR FAITH LEADERS TO RESPOND TO COVID-19
NCDHHS RECOGNIZES THE POWERFUL ROLE FAITH LEADERS PLAY IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND CONGREGATIONS.  WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP NC MOVING FORWARD. BELOW IS A LIST OF ACTIONS TO CONSIDER TO HELP PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES AND STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19.
1.  Bringing Summer Back is a fun, flexible community-centered approach to help every organization and individual stop the spread of COVID-19 by urging friends and neighbors to get vaccinated.
  • Learn more and register your congregation
 2.  Keep your congregation and faith community informed about COVID-19 vaccines and prevention.
  • Vaccine communication toolkit for faith leaders is available.
  • Share information about how to find a vaccination appointment.
3.   Become a vaccine ambassador.
  • Share your vaccine story and encourage your networks to share why they got or plan to get the vaccine.
4.  Follow NCDHHS guidance for places of worship to protect your community.

5.  Urge your congregation to get tested for COVID-19 if they have symptoms.
6.  Help connect people to resources and supports.

6/1/2021 Stay Healthy

5 Tips to Stay Healthy this Summer
  1. Get your rest.  Routines may vary with summer events but aim to get seven to nine hours of sleep a night.
  2. Move your body.  Added heat (even if its dry heat) can make exercise uncomfortable in the summer months.  Try getting some exercise in the morning hours before the sun is at its peak.  Or break up your day and go for shorter walk breaks throughout the day.
  3. Connect with others.  Plan something fun with family or friends.
  4. Stay hydrated.  Aim to drink more than the standard eight glasses a day.  And get creative put some frozen berries in your water or even some mint leaves and lime slices.
  5. Wear sunscreen. Look for at least an SPF 30 and wear it all the time!
